A front line gubernatorial aspirant in Anambra State on the platform of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Valentine Chineto Ozigbo, has enjoined Christians to see the Lenten period as one of spiritual renewal.

Speaking ahead of the Lenten period which begins today, Mr Ozigbo, who will be transitioning from the executive role at Transcorp on March 25, urged Nigerians to fully identify with the Lenten season by renewing their lives in the knowledge that from ash they came and to ash they would return. He also urged all Nigerians to take this as the period for sacrificial giving, humility and fasting to remind us of the sacrifice and love of our Lord to humanity.

He also charged them to use the period to pray for peace in the country, even as he expressed the hope that God would give Nigeria and Anambra the right kind of leaders.
