Sequel to the health advisory message which I wrote to my constituents on the COVID-19 pandemic, I have written to the Catholic, Anglican, Pentecostal Bishops and leadership of other religious organizations to review practices related to public worship to keep everyone, especially the most vulnerable, safe.

As part of my efforts to curb the COVID-19 menace, I have freely sponsored a health sensitization jingle every (30)thirty minutes on my radio station; Authority 91.9fm. This programme is scheduled to run till further notice. In furtherance, I have also opened up my radio station:Authority 91.9fm (free of charge) as an information dissemination platform for religious bodies and all other denominations that are interested in commencing public enlightenment programmes on the COVID-19 Pandemic. Please call: 08134956834 to book a programme session for free.

As we grapple with and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe nothing would be more effective than information dissemination, as well as supporting the health system. It is vital to start sensitization on what this season portends for us as a people and precautionary measures to be taken to curb the spread of this virus.

The uncertainty of this global health situation can be distressing. However, we must not let the crippling fear that has gained momentum around this illness make us lose hope. There is need to sensitize, support one another in this uncertain time and share in keeping our communities and environment as safe as possible. My constituency office is monitoring the situation in Anambra South and will proceed with other forms of assistance after careful safety evaluations are conducted and concluded.

Let us Keep praying for our community; let us remain disciplined in obeying the Authorities and keep trusting in God. In the end, we shall overcome!

Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ubah.
