Confusion has trailed the collapse of a Chinese man on a street in Nigeria’s economic capital, Lagos.
A trending video on the incident says: “Just happened in Lagos, a Chinese man with conbid-19 collapsed on the street of Lagos. God knows how many more undetected people on our street.”
The claim has sparked controversy, with some commentators questioning how those making the claim arrived at the conclusion that the man died of the dreaded coronavirus which originated in China but has become a global pandemic.
Another account faulted the claim, saying that “the man in this video slapped his Nigerian driver twice and the driver retaliated by beating him up.”

The unidentified Chinese man, who was dressed in trousers and shirt, reportedly collapsed in the densely-populated Obalende area of Lagos.
