Anambra State government has intensified her efforts in tackling the gully erosion at 100-Foot Road, Nnewi.

A visit to the erosion site clearly showed that government that massive progress has been made in the Construction of Storm Water Diversion Deep Channel in the Fifty (50) Feet Deep 100-Foot Road Gully Erosion.The Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Implementation, Hon. Sir Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu who was at the erosion site on during the weekend, with the General Manager of Infrastructure Development Company (IDC), Freddy De Kleyn, said that the state government is determined in reclaiming the erosion site.





Speaking during the visit, Hon. Melie Onyejepu commended Infrastructure Development Company (IDC), for their impressive level of work, according to him, he is not surprised because IDC is an International reputable construction company.
Speaking further, he attributed the speedy construction of work ongoing in the erosion site to the commitment of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, who is determined to ensure that the erosion site is reclaimed.

While assuring of the state government determination in making sure that the work is completed within a reasonable timeframe, Hon. Melie revealed that the government has provided the needed resources and support for Infrastructure Development Company (IDC).



He urged Ndi Nnewi to increase their support for All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the government of His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, who is committed in the development of Nnewi.
Speaking also, the General Manager of Infrastructure Development Company (IDC), Freddy De Kleyn, said that his company is already reclaiming the erosion site through the importation of laterite and compaction with careful channelisation of stormwater.



He revealed that they have been able to manage the topography which was so precarious, to ensure that the rain does not wash off what they have achieved.
However, he praised the hospitality nature of people living in the area, noting that they are happy working on the site.



It will be recalled that the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, was at the erosion site on Wednesday, 29th January, 2020, to inspect the project.
