The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old pastor, Chukwudi Chukwumezie, for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl in Iyaba Egbema Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, said to be a pastor with the Mountain Zion Deliverance Ministry, Ugamuma, Obosi, was said to have been similarly arrested about a year ago for defiling another 15-year-old girl in a hotel in Obosi.

Chukwumezie reportedly jumped bail after his first arrest.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the latest incident, said the suspect would be charged after investigation.

He said, “Last year, police operatives attached to the Obosi Division arrested one Pastor Chukwudi Chukwumezie, 34, in charge of the Mountain Zion Deliverance Ministry, Ugamuma village, Obosi, who allegedly lured and had unlawful carnal knowledge of a year-old-girl at a hotel on the Eze Iweka Road, Obosi, under the pretext of saying deliverance prayers for her.

“Police detectives took the victim to hospital for medical examination, where penetration and laceration of her hymen were confirmed by a medical doctor, after which suspect was charged.

“However, the same suspect, who jumped bail, had in July and August this year allegedly defiled another 15-year-old girl from Iyaba Egbema in Ozubulu, using the same mode of operation of false deliverance.

“The victim was equally taken to hospital for medical examination, where penetration was confirmed.”
