As Nigeria counts down to the 2020 Democracy Heroes Awards, the Federal Ministry of Health had few hours ago released an approval  statement for the official hosting of the 2020 Power of Togetherness Edition, slated to hold on the 14th of October at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja. The approval was contained in a letter, which was signed by the honourable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.

According to the official statement of approval for the 2020 edition of Democracy Heroes Award, the Federal Ministry of Health noted that the confirmation and certified approval for the prestigious and most anticipated award ceremony was premised on assessments of the venue, as well as it's health and safety facilities. 

It further stated that the Ministry of Health had conducted a thorough review of the general hygiene and other safety practices with respect to guidelines of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control-NCDC, as it relates to Covid19 mass gathering directive. However, the letter confirms that the Award event has made all the necessary provisions to host a safe and secured event at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, as scheduled.

The forthcoming Democracy Heroes Awards will recognise and honour the distinguished performance and exceptional contributions of Leaders and notable personalities in Nigeria, who have played key roles in the growth and development of our democracy. The award event has remained one of the most reputable, distinguished and prestigious awards in Nigeria.

Some nominations for the Award Ceremony includes the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Abubakar Malami, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the honourable Minister for Justice and Attorney General of Nigeria, amongst others.

In a brief reaction from the Principal Executive and Project Director of Democracy Heroes Awards, Mr. Alexander Ajagbonna, he appreciated the Ministry of Health and the Honourable Minister, Dr. Osagie Ehanire. He assured the Ministry of his team's readiness to adhere and maintain coordinated activities during the award ceremony on the 14th of October at the prestigious 5star Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
