The Chairman Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, JONAWPD, Anambra State, Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke says the full productivity of a society will never be maximized if possibilities are left buried in the minds of persons with Disabilities who constitute a number of human resources in that society.

Correspondent Njideka Okoye reports that Comrade Okeke stated this in Awka while assuring that their votes must count during the November 6th Governorship election in Anambra state.

He noted that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of persons with Disabilities has mandated member states to promote an inclusive society through the protection of the rights and empowerment of persons with Disabilities.

Comrade Okeke stated that persons with Disabilities have benefited much from the present administration of Governor Willie Obiano in terms of empowerment through political appointments, employments into civil service as well as protection of their rights through the enactment of the Disability Rights Law, 2018.

The JONAWPD chairman, urged the members to ensure they exercise their franchise come November 6th governorship election in Anambra.
